i have noticed that 'free' yahoo auctions listed for europe and australia have been sold to ebay. the yahoo auctions that remain free are fast becoming a dinosaur and sellers are forced to seek other alternatives. well, we must thank mr. delcampe for that alternative. he has developed this fine website which so far has remained fee free. he is to be commended for all his efforts and expenses in developing, i think, the best site on the web. although my sales are 'on fire', i don't complain because i know i am receiving the maximum from my sales with no upfront loading fees or closing fees. cajusr. salutes mr. delcampe and wishes him all the best for this site. merci beaucoiup mon ami seb.

HERE IS WHAT I SAID A YEAR AGO AND LOOK WHAT HAS HAPPENED:

Sat 11th Aug 2001 06:52:37 PM
Subject: yahoo auctions
for those of you such as me who still sell on yahoo international, beware the listing fees are coming to those sites eventually. the yahoo australia/new zealand site is now imposing listing fees. it will be only a matter of time for this to be instituted on their other international sites. yahoo's greed will eventually be their undoing as long as brave entrepeneurs like sebastien delcampe have great sites as this one. i have sold a lot of stamps on yahoo before their corporate masters wanted larger bonuses for the ceo's. now with listing fees being implemented overseas, the importance of www.delcampe.comLink (http) becomes even more substancial for the free or low fee sites. please let seb know that his hard work and dedication is going to be essential to the philatelic community. merci, bill (cajunsr1).
